Time and space are perceptual concepts whose characterization lies in the eyes of the beholder. Today, in times of fast-paced media consumption, it is the visual image which conveys the contents at hand. As a matter of fact, our very perception of time and space is altered through modern media. Over the course of eight chapters, this animation explains the various individual mechanisms of different forms of media and their ways of reshaping our experience of time and space. The animation is based on a custom-made parallax scrolling technique which lets the user manipulate the speed and direction of the animation. At the core of this project lies the idea that it isn't technology that marks and shapes our perception of time but it is the way we communicate and illustrate temporal incident that informs our thinking.
